Why We Cap Results at 20
Most search engines try to show you more. We deliberately show you less. Here is the thinking behind our 20-result cap and why fewer options actually leads to better decisions.
As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. This means if you click a link and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Why Trust ToucanFinds
Every product recommendation on ToucanFinds comes from applying our 6-point quality filter to Amazon's full catalog: minimum 4.2 stars, 50+ reviews, Prime-eligible, US warehouse, no China-direct shipping, and a seller quality check. No brands pay us for placement. We only earn when you buy — which means we are motivated to show you products worth buying. See our full methodology.
If you search for "wireless headphones" on Amazon, you get over 90,000 results. On ToucanFinds, you get 20. That gap is intentional.
More options feel like a benefit. In practice, they are often the opposite.
The paradox of choice is real.
Psychologist Barry Schwartz documented what most shoppers already feel: when you have too many options, you either make a worse decision or you make no decision at all. The classic example is a study on jam — shoppers given 6 choices were 10 times more likely to actually buy than shoppers given 24 choices.
Amazon's 90,000 headphone results are the 24-jar version. Most people either buy something random from the first page (which is dominated by ads) or they close the tab and come back later — or never.
Our 20 results are not random.
Every one of our 20 results passed all six quality filters. They have real review counts, real ratings, real US fulfillment. Then they are sorted by a quality score that weights both rating and number of reviews. The result is a short list of genuinely good products.
Choosing between 20 good options is a reasonable task. Choosing between 90,000 options of unknown quality is not.
We would rather show you nothing than show you junk.
Sometimes a search returns fewer than 20 results that pass our filters. We show you what qualifies, not a padded list of borderline products to fill space. If only 8 products pass, you see 8.
This happens most often with very specific searches or niche product categories. In those cases, we suggest broadening the search term. But we will never lower our quality bar to fill a page.
The ToucanFinds Team
We are regular people who love shopping on Amazon but got tired of sorting through hundreds of thousands of results to find what we actually want. We built ToucanFinds to cut through the noise — only top-rated, Prime-eligible, US-shipped products, ranked by quality. No junk, no guessing.
